There are amazing hiking trails a half mile from Shady Creek Farm at the Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary.  The property is the headquarters for the Indiana Audubon Society and is open to the public.  The trails vary from easy to moderate and are well marked.  Leashed dogs are welcome to hike the trails and enjoy the wildlife and scenery the area has to offer.


The town of Connersville, IN is located 8 miles from Shady Creek Farm.


There is public access to the beautiful Whitewater River, a tributary of the Great Miami River 3 miles from Shady Creek Farm.  There is a nice beach with access for swimming, fishing and canoeing/tubing.  This is a nice place to bring your dog to cool off after herding or hiking, leashes are recommended.
